Wire: Learn to Twist, Jig, Bend, Hammer, and Wrap for the Prettiest
Jewelry Ever by Cynthia B. Wuller For wire work, this book far and away offers the most new ideas and the best instructional photographs and text I've come across - ever. It's clear to me that Ms. Wuller has spent a great deal of time "courting her muse," because her designs are innovative and fun. Her instructions are very clear, and the photographs of the steps involved provide everything wire enthusiasts -- from the brand-new to the seasoned pro -- will need to imitate these projects and then innovate their own. Buy this one -- you'll thank me later. |

Perfect
Match: Earring Designs For Every Occasion by Sara Schwittek While Hurricane Ike was surging towards the Texas coastline, I experienced a surge of my own -- I made more jewelry that weekend than I've made in two years (funny how running a bead shop can really cut into one's jewelry-crafting time)!!! I have this book to thank for that. If you've been to Bead Fountain lately, you've no doubt seen many of the pieces I made, most of which were inspired by pictures in this book. This book assumes you've worked with wire before, so don't count on an in-depth look at each turn of the wire. But if you're already a wire-worker (even a fairly new one), you'll get lots of inspiration from this title. |

Bead
& Wire Jewelry for Special Occasions by Linda Jones This book is certainly not for the faint-at-heart. I consider myself pretty experienced with wire work, and I had some trouble with some of the projects in this book. Still, I can't stop thinking about it! I simply adore Ms. Jones' use of beads and wire together, and I really want to master some of these projects. Even if you purchase this book only to enjoy the pictures, it would still be money well spent. |

Soldered Jewelry & Accessories: A Crafter's Guide to Fashioning
Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets & More by Lisa Bluhm This book provides an inspiring look at the nifty things you can do with "cold solder" -- the method that stained glass artists use. Even better, Ms. Bluhm provides excellent instruction for someone just getting started with this craft medium. While I tinker with putting together a class on this topic, immerse yourself in a book that is as educational as it is inspirational. |
