Minor
variations yield big results when you add crystals to a simple netted
rope. This project can be finished more traditionally with a
clasp at the end, or make it a custom fit bangle bracelet like this
beautiful sample.
Moves along rather
quickly; however, students who choose to make a necklace may not
complete their projects during class.
Some bead-weaving experience will prove helpful in doing this project.

For a 7- to 8-inch finished bangle:
- 10 grams 15o Japanese seed beads
- 5 grams 11o Japanese seed beads
- 164 to 188 4mm crystal
bicones. You can use 4mm round beads also.
- .008" Wildfire or 10lb Power Pro thread
- #12 Beading needles
- Beeswax
- Sharp scissors (children's
Fiskars cut Wildfire & PowerPro just fine)
If you're doing a traditional clasp closure instead of a bangle, bring
all of the above, and:
- You'll
need 24 fewer 4mm beads.
- Accent beads for clasp ends (optional)
- C-Flex or Beadalon flexible beading wire
- Crimp beads
- Clasp with a single point of attachment
- Jump ring
- Crimp bead covers (optional)
